Hi I have gotten Carers allowance for my daughter for 10 years and 2 years ago went onto Universal Credit and got the carers element. I have now been awarded PIP, would that allow me to get the LCWRA element of UC as I haven’t ever had any sick notes as being a carer I didn’t need to look for work.

PIP doesn’t automatically entitle you to LCWRA. To start this process you need to report a change of circumstances and then report your health condition. You must then send a fit note within 7 days of this. You need to continue to send in fit notes until a decision is made on your work capability assessment.
Do be aware that if you are found to have LCWRA then you can’t be paid the carers element at the same time. You will be paid the LCWRA instead.
Are you claiming UC with a partner?0
