It depends who the carer is and you must also need overnight care on a regular basis. https://www.disabilityrightsuk.org/universal-credit-overnight-care-size-criteria

Thankyou poppy. But does this apply to private tenants like myself. My carers are my mother and sister??0

Yes, it can apply to privately renting tenants. As i advised, you must need overnight care on a regular basis. Only 1 extra bedroom is allowed, even though you have 2 carers. There's no guarantee you will get the extra room and it will be down to a decision maker to make that decision.

The application form with universal credit was a silple 1 question online form, it only asked me what date I moved into property. They are aware of my circumstances from previous assessments. So do you think they will have all relevant information. Also I do have regular care and my mother and sister take turns.0
