Wca and restart scheme

Hi
I had my work capability assessment on the 13/09. The lady said I should hear back in a couple of days ( not holding my breathe on that one)!!
My question is, if I was found to have limited capability for work, would I still have to participate in the restart scheme? I know if it was lcwra I wouldn't have to participate but just not sure if it is for lcw also.
Thank you

Just to add, my work coach at job centre has turned my work search off but the woman at the restart scheme is still emailing me jobs to apply for. Restart is a terrible thing, anyone else having issues with them?0

Hello there @Denbat07 and thanks for your post. Have you heard anything back about your assessment? How do you feel it went?
I'm not sure if you would still need to participate in the restart scheme I'm afraid. My colleague @Sue_Scope might be able to help answer you in more detail
I know we've had a few different discussions on the community about the restart scheme. You are welcome to use the search function (the magnifying glass button) to have a search for 'restart scheme' and see what threads you can find.
If you need a hand with anything further, please let us know.

I'm gobsmacked!! I only had the assessment on Tuesday and just had a message in my universal credit journal saying I have lcwra! It feels like a tremendous amount of stress and worry has been lifted.
The assessment went OK, the lady seemed to show empathy, I have fibromyalgia and reynards.
I took pleasure in emailing the woman at restart that I had received the decision as she said on Monday you'll probably found fit for work as you have to be seriously poorly to get an award. Also she had me booked in for lots of courses that I wasn't able to get to and she said oh well it will be ages yet before you hear back from dwp. How wrong she was! They are just totally heartless people.
Hope this helps anyone claiming for something they absolutely need and are entitled to 😊

I hope so because I know what it is like to feel worried and stressed all the time
Thank you 😊0 -
That sounds really difficult @Denbat07. Would you like to talk about your worry and stress?
We are here for you, even if that's just as a listening ear!

Hi
I was awarded lcwra on 15th September. I was on the restart scheme and understood that I wouldn't have to attend whilst receiving lcwra.
Yesterday I got a snotty call from the restart advisor saying why had I not attended the appointment yesterday? I had already emailed her to say that I had received the lcwra award on the 15th but she said I still had to attend and asked who told me that I didn't have to attend? I told her the job centre told me that if I was awarded tge benefit that I would be exempt from the scheme. She replied, well I will be making appointments for you to attend as usual. I didn't sleep last night. I feel like it is harassment and bullying tactics. Can anyone advise me. I have left a message in my journal but no one has got back to me
Thanks0 -
You do not need to attend any appointments at all when found to have LCWRA and this includes the restart scheme.

Thanks for putting my mind at ease. I thought that but she was adamant that I still needed to attend....0

Universal Credit fill a form out and send to Restart. This probably hasn’t been done yet but as advised you simply don’t have to attend, you can’t get sanctioned for not doing so. Time to focus on yourself now.Denbat07 said:Thanks for putting my mind at ease. I thought that but she was adamant that I still needed to attend....1 -
