Following my legal case with adult social services I am looking for a specialist organisation or individual who can deal with the cognitive deficiencies arising from having learning difficulties. Such cognitive deficiencies would include struggles with information processing, speed and retrieval, working memory, etc. Do you have any suggestions?

I am looking for an organisation or individual that I can recommend to adult social services for me to be working with as part of my improved care package.

    Hi @uk71 :)

I'm sorry that we haven't been able to get an answer to you on this yet. You've mentioned that you're looking for someone to work with you as part of your improved care package- have I understood that right?

What kind of work would this organisation be doing with you, do you think?

Hmm. I'm not 100% sure @uk71. I hope someone else will have some insight for you but, in the meantime, I'm wondering whether you've considered finding a therapist who specialises in this area, or getting in touch with your local Mencap service?

Hello. I used to do stuff with them. But I doubt they will be helpful for the kind of support I am looking for.

    Hi uk71
Possibly a private psychologist whom specialises in LD cognition usually camhs services have an LD psychologist attached whom maybe able to recommend one for an adult assessment in private practise if the local authority would fund the assessment or a charity may help with funding.
Regardless of ld or asd any individual neuro diverse or neurotypical would be assessed by a psychologist whom would specialist in cognition and all psychologists have to have a minimum of fundamentals of cognitive psychology and cognitive psychology 2 as part of their undergraduate
