I’ve been awarded PIP!

So I never in a million years thought I’d be making this post, but it’s official: I got a message from the DWP this morning saying I’d been awarded PIP! I broke down in tears of relief and am still crying a bit now as I write this post. I can’t believe it. I feel seen and heard for the first time in my life.
I’ve read horror stories about people having to fight, especially people with mental health issues, and it’s been the hardest few months waiting for a decision. I’m at rock bottom mentally but the fact that I’ll now be able to do things like pay for taxis to my medical appointments instead of my mum having to pay, and pay for my own medication is just fantastic.
I don’t know what else to say but the relief I’m feeling is indescribable.

@sunshinegirl
Amazing news for you.
I too have received the text this morning going off the hp report I'll be getting standard for mobility and nothing for daily living which is a bit unfair given my struggles with anxiety, depression and agoraphobia but I'm still relieved its over it really is a weight off your mind isn't it after months of panicking0 -
Great news, well done @SunshineGirlx
Make sure you take some time to work on your mental health if you can, and relax after a stressful few months!0 -
Thank you Anxietymum, I’m really happy for you too! It really is a weight off after worrying about it for so many months. I don’t know how much I’ve been awarded yet but my situation sounds very similar to yours in terms of our conditions.
Thank you Tori! I will try to do that. 😊0 -
Thank you Teddy!1
