Hi all, new to this so please bear with me!!
Sorry if it’s long post  :)

How long have people been waiting for LCWRA assessment??

Would LCWRA be back dated to when first sick note was handed in??

Little bit of background 10th June 21 my partner was signed off work.

Notified UC of this and sick note was added to journal and accepted on the 28th June 21. (Added sick notes ever since)

9th July 21 we received message asking to fill in UC50 form, this was sent back on the 6th august 21 as we didn’t receive it until 2nd august 21.

Called them December 22 and they said it was sent in to another department and it’s a 6 month back log.

Called again in March 22 they couldn’t tell us what was happening been back and forth with them ever since!!

Long story short they lost the form and on  the 5th October 22 messaged us fill in new one!!  Still not received this new form so printed one and sent it back recorded delivery to the address the advisory centre told us to!!

Thank you for reading in advance

There are long waits for assessments. Provided you supply details of continuous Fit Notes then LCWRA status, if awarded, should be backdated to the AP in which the health condition was reported. The extra money for LCWRA is then due from the fourth full AP after the health condition is reported (the three months do not get any extra money).

Thank you Calcotti for your response.

Just wanted to check as my partner is currently employed but not been able to work since June 21 (16months) not received ssp since December 21 and now his employer is currently looking into medical incapability termination of his contract.

Will UC now expect him to look for work as he will be unemployed even though his still classed as unfit to work by doctors, physio and his employers occupational health.

Did I need to tell the assessment people his had accepted sick notes since June 21??

Sorry first time dealing with anything like this!!

UC by default treats people as jobseekers until the Work Capability Assessment decision is made - but the work coach can reduce the requirements using their discretion.

And if you're better by the time the assessment is carried out then no LCWRA. On the flip side, claimant might get worse.

Thank you all for the replies!

We will just have to wait and see, his got a capability hearing at work next week Wednesday to see if they are going to terminate his contract.

Not holding out any hope on anything anymore. This whole situation is exhausting and affecting our whole family.

    Have a lovely weekend

We have never meet or spoken to our work coach. In the past year we had her. Hopefully she will be understanding but not holding out to much hope.

You are welcome @Charjay1989. It is the very least you deserve.

Best of luck with the capability hearing! How are you feeling about it at the moment? We are here for you and listening to you if you would like to share more with us.

I can hear that you, potentially, have less hope at the moment. Not least with the lack of support that has been available through this difficult time.

It sounds like it has exhausted you and affected your whole family. Is there anything, in particular, that could help this to feel more manageable for you at the moment?

As I say, we are all here for you and listening to you. Please don’t hesitate to let us know if we can help. You don’t have to face this, or anything else, alone if you don’t want to.

Hope you are having a lovely weekend and things look up for you as soon as possible  :)

    Just little update!

Uc50 form sent out by assessment centre 5/10/22, we printed one out on 19/10/22 as hadn’t received. Sent printed form back on the 24/10/22. Finally received original form 31/10/22. Letter stated Form needed to be returned by the 4th November… so glad I printed form off.

Confirmed today UC50 form put on system 4/11/22. 6 days after they received it in mail handling site.

I have also emailed a letter to the assessment office confirming that my partner has been terminated from employment due to in capability and continued I’ll health.
Also sent diary of daily routine and struggles/support needed.

Been told to call back in a 1 week to check if all has been uploaded onto system and 4 weeks if not heard about assessment.

I would advise anyone to chase up and send forms back recorded delivery as it may be sitting in the post handling site for a week and cause it to be marked as not received on time. This what happened with our last form.
