PIP “not yet made decision” text

Hi all.
My anxiety is through the roof. I hate this waiting and I’m so so scared they’re going to give me 0 reward. I know I scored 8 points on daily living side of thing so I should qualify if they go with what the assessment says but still worried.
I received a text on Friday last week (4th nov) from DWP saying something on the lines of “we have not made a decision yet and will write to you in 8 weeks”
I know they’re saying 8 weeks and i also know this is a generic text but I still can’t help but let my anxiety take over.

I’ve seen so many people get their decision a couple days after this and I know I had the weekend too which doesn’t count but how long did others wait to get their decision after getting that text?

You can't really go by others receiving the decision within a few days after that text. The timescale in general is 2-12 weeks after the report is returned.I totally understand the stress waiting causes but try to focus on something else if possible because otherwise time will seem like forever. You done all you can now and all you can do is wait for the decision.0

It’s hard as I suffer OCD and I’m anxiety/panic disorder anyways so I fixate on things and over think it.I keep trying to distract myself but so so hard!Im annoyed at myself for not taking more time on my initial application as there were a couple points I said didn’t affect me like cooking and toileting but it really does and even in the assesment theyvgave me 2 points for each of those. Just worried they will take away the assessment points as I stupidly said it doesn’t affect me in the application when I first did it. I know someone said they usually go by assessment though.0

It can definitely be hard to distract yourself from the worry @alexcw!
The coffee lounge is quite a good source of positive distraction. It'd be good to see you over there
Are you receiving support to help you manage your OCD, anxiety, and panic disorder?1 -
Hi
I was so like yourself, It knocked me sick with all the worry.
My timeline was 25th August submitted papers, 10th October Telephone assessment, 7th November text saying awarded.
It's easier said than done telling you not to worry as it's natural I too had updates via text which I think are just to let you know that its still in hand and they have not forgotten about you.
Hope you hear something soon & take care x1 -

I actually called them on Tuesday to see if a decision had been made and they said it had been done that morning and just a few hours after they told me my award even before I got the decision text! I was quite surprised as a lot of people said you have to wait 24hr.But very happy and can finally relax. Thanks very much for the help x0 -

I don't know how a call centre could possibly know that a decision will be made in 3 days.
