They say you should start at the beginning to tell a story but my story really starts on October 5 and now has become so much more unbearable.

Let's go back to the real beginning in 1978 well two young lovers had the most to live so much to look to the future too having fun and carefree.
Well owing  to one of those life's wrong road and Canada's cruel immigration policy to English people, I returned to England and university and successful degrees and teachers cert. So I returned to Canada to take up a teaching position but on arriving learnt that my lady had married thinking I wasn't going to return after 4 years.
I immediately returned home crest fallen broken hearted.
Later I married and had 2 lovely girls the marriage didn't last she couldn't cope with me disability but I hung on till the girls where 18 so that I wouldn't lose them indeed my daughters are closer today and text most days.
Well now back to oct 5
Out of the blue I got a Facebook message it was my old flame some 42 years ago, she explained her husband had commented suicide many years before and had brought up her children alone.
With in minutes it was like we had never been apart we talked for hours and have since now being nov 18 our longest chat so far being 5 1/2 hours .
She told me about her ill health heart attacks stents a diabetes 1 and I replied with my long list of similar we sounded like a pair of old crocs.
Till her call I was simply existing and on a state pension and pip you know what that means.
But it's true long lost love does invigorate you into  emotions and a smile a warmth in your  heart. that was thought lost forever.
But that's as far as it will go.
Facebook Phone calls a card is what we do yes we joke if we met again be a toss up who looks after who, but there will be no cuddles no hugs no kisses, I not need to tell you why.
We are all suffering in this heat or eat country,I'm no exception.
Well that my story of lost love of reunited love spanning   42 years and for 2 people in this vast world that found ourselves again destined not to meet again.
I leave with a thought if you can grab and hold onto love it is a very precious commodity in this ever restricting world.
PS. Of course I'm blubbering I am a bb soft old guy.

Hi and welcome to the community

What a lovely story if only there could be a happy ending and you could meet up again

Try and stay hopeful and in the current time you at least have someone you can communicate with

Evening @shoneyz, thanks so much for sharing your story 😊 It just goes to show that years and distance between people don’t ever need to be obstacles when it comes to reconnection ♠️

As Streisand sings "Love comes from unexpected places". To which I would add "space, time and quantum physics really don't matter at all"! Good luck, you never know, you may meet up in person.
