Hi so I recently been awarded pip on standard rate (care) in October but as I recently been rejected many times for pip before that I did a mandatory reconsideration before I got my award because I thought I was going to be rejected again. So I recently received a text on Thursday saying "You've asked us to look at our recent PIP decision again. We will write to you once we've done this. As a guide you should hear from us within 8 weeks. You don't need to contact us unless any of the details you gave have changed. Thank you"
So I'm abit worried now. Can they take my PIP away? Or just keep the current claim I have. Can I call to cancel the mandatory reconsideration? Do they stop my PIP while a mandatory reconsideration is in place?. Please help someone

How did you request the MR before you were awarded, it's not possible to do this.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
@poppy123456 I printed it out and filled it in

OK but i don't understand why you requested the MR before you were awarded.

@poppy123456 because like I said I thought I was going to be refused again

Oh right, ok, very unusual. You can ring PIP to ask them to cancel the MR request. The most likely outcome of the MR is the decision will remain the same but it's pointless going forward if it's not possible to score any more points for a higher award.
