CHRISTMAS POEM TIME

Christmas time.

 

The lead up to Christmas is upon us yet again

Does anyone remember, last year we played a little game.

We guessed what would make our Christmas great

It could be share it with your best mate.

Mine is to spend it with my family, when they all come around,

to hear them telling all those cracker jokes and all those moaning sounds.

And when the Christmas decorations come out, there’s always a minor row.

I guess it’s nothing serious, just who’s going in the attic now,

get the Christmas tree and baubles down, plus any thing you can see,

as boxes and bags get bigger, as each year we buy some more to go on that poor tree

Now it’s hard to close the door, yes close the attic door

well, we make a big weekend, of decorating the house,

from the roof right down to the floor,

The banisters have garlands, the door has got a wreath,

it's made of holly and pine cones the kids collected the other week.

now the kids are older, they paint the cones as well,

with glitter and snow spray to give a sparkling glow.

The tree went up with that missing leg, so balance is maintained, with a brick on the opposite leg.

It’s all a part of Christmas, and dealing with problems that you have,

That makes every Christmas special, it just has to said.

Now I am coming mellow, as its some one’s birthday soon.

And hope you all celebrate it, like when you were like those kids,

 And maybe spare a thought for loved ones no longer with us on this day

Merry Christmas one and all, whichever god you have, and just remember if you get stuck

There’s always a Chicken Tika or a Dona Kabab.
