Hi,

I am currently receive Income related ESA & I’m on severe disability premium, I also receive PIP. I have read that they’re moving some of the benefits to Universal Credit by end of 2024 I think this affects me for sure? I have severe anxiety & I keep worrying about ever since I read it online. Although I receive severe disability premium will that affect my move? I reckon they might stop if I move to Universal Credit. I also receive Housing Benefit will that be affected too? Coz if it does I will have to pay rent I think? I also live with husband he receives contribution ESA & PIP does this affect him too?

Managed migration of income based ESA claimants has been delayed until 2028 (except for those who also get Tax Credits).

When it happens UC replaces both the income based ESA and HB.

When you do move under managed migration you will get transitional protection which means that on the day of transfer your UC will not be less than your ESA and HB at that time.

Contribution based ESA will continue But is deducted from the UC just as it is from your income based ESA).

    PIP is not affected.
