I am new here 👋. I had a video assessment for PIP and I got my care raised to enhanced but weirdly my mobility stayed at standard at my physiotherapists and GPS amazement, my review was delayed by covid, the lady from cab in hospital filled my review form in in February because I was seriously ill and it was sent away I waited until 4 weeks ago and had my video assessment, I am quite shocked that my award is not backdated because it isn't the claimants fault that covid happened. I intend doing an MR but I have to wait on the decision letter and again there is nothing in place with dwp pip if I don't get the letter due to the postal strike. If I am wrong please feel free to correct me. Point is cab are stretched as it is with the backlog from covid so what if i can't get an appointment intime before the 30 days are up for the MR? Thanks

If this was a review started by DWP then it's correct that the new award starts from when the decision was made. They don't usually backdate the difference in the award if the review was started by them.If you reported a change in your health condition then it will be from when you reported the changes and you should be paid the difference between your new and old award. If you disagree with the decision of your new award you can request the MR for this. You need to make sure it's possible to score points for Enhanced mobility before doing this.1
