Hi guys and girls! Hope we are all safe and well. I begun my application on July 28th and 2 weeks ago today I had my assessment over the phone. The lady who undertook the assessment was very kind and understanding and helped me through my assessment with the support of my keyworker.

I received a text the following day to say that the assessment report has been handed over to the DWP and that a decision will be made within the next 2-8 weeks. I know that only today I have barely met the threshold to qualify for a decision (that's if its ready) and am aware that it might take a little longer than that to recieve my decision.

For my own peace of mind, could those that have been awarded PIP please share the timescales of how long after their assessment did they recieve their final outcome. And if there is any way I can enquire to check the progress of my application, please could you help point me in the right direction?

Look forward to hearing back from you all!

With love and good vibes,

Michael

Decisions can take up to 12 weeks from receipt of the assessment report by DWP, possibly slightly longer with Christmas break coming up.

You can phone the PIP helpline 0800 121 4433 for an update but it’s not a good use of their time so soon.

It varies for each individual.  My decision was two weeks after my assessment, and received a text.  I am now just awaiting the letter.

I hope that you hear soon as I know how anxious I was waiting.
