I've been told if ur disabled you can apply for pension credit but I'm 38 isn't this benefit for just pensioners or is it true we can apply

You've been told incorrectly. Pension credit is for those of state pension age and above. https://www.gov.uk/pension-credit/eligibility

At 38 you're still of working age and being disabled doesn't automatically entitle you to any benefits.I note from other threads that you're a student. If you're full time then a lot of people usually apply for student finance.

You are correct, Pension Credit is for pension age claimants.
