I am living in Hawaii on the island of Oahu. I'm originally from California. Born and raised. 5 years ago I just picked up and decided to move to Hawaii. It's been quite an adventure. But let me get to the meat of it... I have a dear friend who is 60. He was in great shape and has been all his life. When he was younger he went to Hollywood and was a dancer in the TV series FAME. And later was a golden glove boxer. Last year, a terrible accident left him as a quadruple amputee. Both arms at the elbow. And both legs at the knees. I can't even begin to imagine what he goes through every day. How it makes him feel. Because he always is in high spirits. But he does get down. The problem is that he is going through all of this **** and it seems like nobody is there from the system to help him. He is at the moment, homeless and.living on the streets. There has to be some kind of advocate for him or something because they don't seem to be doing everything that they possibly can.

Hi and welcome to the community

I'm sorry to hear about your friend and credit to you for trying to support him

This is a UK based community so I doubt members would know what services to direct you to in your area unfortunately

Welcome to the community @chillbro :)

As janer1967 has said, we're a charity based in England and Wales. You're welcome to be a member of the community, but we may not have as much knowledge about what support should be available to your friend.

I found this page, which seems to list some organisations in Hawaii who may be able to help. I'm not familiar with any of them, but perhaps it could be worth taking a look?
