Advice needed! Am I due backpay?

Hi everyone... I'm sure I should be due backpay but I'm being told I'm not, hopefully someone can advise what to do...

I started handing in sick notes on the 14th April 2022 (my month runs from the 16th), i had my assesment on the 24th Nov and I was awarded LCWRA on the 9th Dec.

I know the first 3 months aren't included and it starts from my 4th UC period, this should mean I am owed backpay from July-Nov as my pay date is the 23rd each month. I spoke to a lady a few days ago who told me I was due £2700 backpay and that it would go into my bank. I received a payment of £113 into my bank yesterday so I sent a message through my account to query what it was for and i received a message today telling me that was all the backpay I was due and that my payments start in February, which I really don't understand!

There haven't been any missed periods in handing in the sick notes and I have checked with Debt Management to make sure I don't owe anything, which I don't.

The people I speak to over the phone are zero help. They just read what they can see without actually looking into things. One of them told me that the payment of £113 was an error and I'd need to pay it back.

Even if I somehow missed the cut off in April, I still should have backpay from August or am I wrong?

If your pay date is 23rd then your assessment periods are 17th to 16th of each month.
Based on the information you gave your waiting period will be April to July. LCWRA starts from AP 17th July to 16th August and first payment should be 23rd August.
Put a message on your journal under the payment section and tell them that your calculations are that your waiting period is between X and Y date and first payment should be X date.
When they recalculate your past statements they work out what you should have been paid against what you have been paid and you’ll then receive the difference between the 2.

Going to your local JC isn't going to help. The recalculation of your statements needs to be done by a case manager at DWP.
Are you claiming UC with a partner that already receives the LCWRA element on your claim by any chance?

Not claiming with a partner, it's just me..

Looking at it, it looks like the person who's dealing with my claim has added the 1st 3 months from the day my 4th month/first payment should have been.. If that makes sense..

I've sent a message on the journal and made each point clear so it can be looked at again

Good luck @mikemcr. Hopefully, sending a message on the journal and making each point clear will mean they will look at it again.

Please feel free to let us know how it goes and if you need any support in the meantime. We are all here for you and listening to you  :)
