Hi there....I was first awarded pip in 2020 , award due to finish march 23....I sent back by review forms in November as requested expecting an appointment date for a telephone review .....today I answered a random private number phone call....a man says he's from DWP ( I should have asked his job title but didn't think to) ...he said with such a backlog of reviews he would just clarify some information then I will receive a decision in a few weeks...he's asked me to confirm the name of the hospital and consultant I receive care from....then he said thats it and ended call....I'm now thinking was this a good or bad thing ....I didn't get a chance to speak...but maybe I'm overthonking and this is the new norm....any thoughts anyone?

When you return review forms they are sent to the decision maker before being sent to the health assessment providers. From there they will look at your form and your evidence and decide whether the forms need to go to the assessment providers or whether a decision can be made without the need for this.Sometimes they will ring (decision maker) before making a decision if there's any questions they need to ask.Now you need to wait for the decision letter which could take a few week because of the Royal Mail strikes and the christmas bank holidays coming up very soon.0

Ah ok .... I will just wait then...so if I don't get an award .... Will I get an opportunity for an assessment then...or is that it...I miss out ? .... is this whats referred to as a paper assessment?

When a decision is made without your file being sent to the health assessment providers, there won't be any assessment report. A decision will be made purely from your form and any additonal evidence you sent. I've yet to know anyone that was refused this way.

Thanks for this information...I only sent 2 hospital letters and repeat prescription list ....but maybe better this way as the worry of knowing that telephone appointment was coming up was awful last time.0

You are welcome @kitkat23. It is the very least you deserve.
Hopefully, it will be better this way - at least with less worry. Please don't hesitate to let us know if there's anything else we can do to support you

Hi...just thought I would update .... I got a review decision letter today....have been awarded standard daily living and enhanced mobility ( same as previous) ....until January 2027.... .... the DM wrote that my evidence and conditions were sufficient to make a decision without further assessment....such a relief and can put to bed for a few more years....thanks to Poppy for your previous response2
