DLA Mobility Component

Hi
I’m struggling to find information on whether you can apply for a DLA mobility payment when you have previously been awarded for care component only?
I applied for DLA for my daughter who has ASD when she was 5. We received the higher rate for care as she needs quite a bit of support. However, at the time, I think she was too young to meet the supervisory element of mobility so DWP rejected her for this. My daughter is now 8 year old and still needs full supervision whenever she leaves the house.
I’m trying to find out if I can reapply for mobility award now that she is older and meets the requirements? Also if I can reapply would I have to reapply for the care component at the same time (I’d like to avoid this as was really stressful first time with a major effort to pull evidence together from the school, Drs & Autism outreach)
Any information or help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You can report the changes but doing this mean her whole award will be looked at again and you'll be sent more forms to fill in and return.

Thank you Poppy, would this likely b as in depth as the original process? I’m not sure I have it in me to go through that again.poppy123456 said:You can report the changes but doing this mean her whole award will be looked at again and you'll be sent more forms to fill in and return.0 -
Yes, it would be the same form as the first time.
