Pip text

Hi I'm new here, I've been reading all the post about pip and the text messages you have all been receiving, I applied for pip in Sept and was given a assessment date the beginning of Nov, on the morning of the assessment I got a phone call to say they had to cancel and rearrange so I was all worked up stressing for nothing πŸ™„, anyway I eventually had the assessment over the phone on the 23rd Nov, I received a text the same day saying my report had been received, I was not happy with the assessment I felt I wasn't given the time to explain my day to day living it was so rushed and he kept asking me the same kind of things which could only be answered with the same answer? , anyway I received a text on the 8th Dec saying they hadn't made a decision yet, after reading through this site I'm pretty sure I won't get it, I've got a feeling as I think I would of had another text by now, I'm only writing this post to thank everyone as the information on this site is amazing it really answer alot of questions 😊

It's only been just over 3 weeks since you had your assessment. Timescales for decisions are up to 12 weeks from when the report is returned to DWP. You had a text on the 8th telling you they haven't made a decision yet and this is a standard text sent to everyone that gives a mobile number and you can't speculate anything from that at this stage.
Nothing more you can do but wait. Once a decision is made you will be contacted.

I know it hasn't been long just have that gut feeling I'm expecting a Refusal Letter rather than a award text, I've sat scrolling through the forum and based off other people's post they are generally getting the text within 7 days of having the text about a decision hasn't yet been made saying the have been awarded, I'm not holding my breath what will be will be, I just don't think I was given the opportunity to explain in detail how my condition affects me but I can only wait and see what the outcome is and go from there, thankyou for the advice it's very much appreciated.

You can't base it off some members here that received the award text soon after. The time to tell them how exactly your conditions affect you was in the form you filled out and returned. The assessment process is for them to gather more evidence. If the assessment was there for them to want every single detail then the backlogs would be longer than they already are.

The time to to explain is when you complete the PIP2 form. As you correctly say, when you get the decision you can go from there and provide extra explanation as part of an MR.

@chez22 hi I read your post recently. Just wondering did you receive your award in the end?Β
