Hi everyone hope you’re all well.
I’m new and trying to get some answers on “If my partner moves in”
I am currently on income related esa and I receive a small work pension, I receive pip enhanced daily and mobility.
My partner is in receipt of UC and he has cancer and so receives the LCWRA element. Can anyone help me please 🙏? Will I have to have a joint claim for UC? Will he be allowed to keep his sickness element? Do I have to make the new claim for UC ? I have so many questions and I’m so worried about everything I don’t know where to turn. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks so much if you managed to understand all this!

Hi @jacmags19. Welcome to Scope's forum. It is great to see you have joined us. How are you at the moment?

Thanks for already finding the courage to reach out to us. I appreciate the courage it can take to reach out, especially when you are new and finding things difficult.

Unfortunately, this is not an area of my expertise though. I am hoping someone with more expertise in this area can respond to you soon.

I am looking to Poppy and Calcotti, in particular, but also any other community members who have experience in this area.

In the meantime, I just wanted to respond to greet you and let you know I hear you. It is ok to have so many questions and worries, it is a confusing and worrying process and time.

Please don't hesitate to let us know if there's anything else we can do to help. We are all here for you and listening to you.

Take care for now and we will look forward to, hopefully, hearing from you again soon  :)
