My supporting evidence was not looked at, at my assessment

Plz can some one help I went for my assasement in Tuesday an report was ready Friday I recieved a text DWP 
my assasement lasted 22 min an she didn’t look at my supporting evidence

    HI,

    Did you take the evidence with you? They don't usually look at the evidence during the assessment, which is why you should send any evidence with the form. They don't have time to look at evidence on the day. Sending it with the form is always the best way because then they have it to support the claim. Some HCP's will even refuse to accept it from you on the day.

    I can't seem to find it now but I seem to remember that the DWP guidance is that the assessor should copy any additional evidence and take it into account. If your assessment takes place at home then they won't take a copy - you have to send it in.

    Hello thank you for all the response it clearly said in the booklet take the evidence along on the day when I first sent the application it was with supporting surgeon letter as I have swollen leg an foot cause discomfort an pain by the end of the day. An it affects me for the next day aswell the more I walk the more swallow it gets an I be in pain an discomfort I’ve had this ongoing issue 2 years but as it was worse know I was told to apply pip all the evidence I have kno is by my surgeon who I saw last week. An I’ve added pictures of my foot when I first sent the application but I was shocked my assasement lasted 20 min I didn’t get chance to speak as my sssasement was 17.10 towards closing time I felt like it was rushed.

    sn my surgeon an doctor have told me they have not been contacted by the dwp

    They very rarely contact anyone for any evidence. The onus is on the claimant to make sure they send it. It's your responsibility to prove you qualify and not there's.

    Assessment times really do vary from person to person. I've had assessments that have lasted over 1 hour but i've also had assessments that have lasted just 10 minutes. When you fill out the form you should put as much information as possible about how your conditions affect you. There's not really any time to go through everything during an assessment.

    Leave it a week then ring DWP to ask for a copy of the assessment report to be sent to you, if you live in the UK. This will give you some idea what the decision is likely to be as they mostly go with the report. In the report will be boxes with dots, you need to look at the PIP descriptors and add up those points, if any has been recommended. You'll still need to wait for the decision but if you're not happy then request the MR followed by Tribunal if that fails. Good luck.
