Hi @ceebee58 - Welcome to the community & thank you for joining. I'm sorry to read about your accident & subsequent problems. I have a genetic disorder which has resulted in generalised osteoarthrosis due to hypermobile joints, & I also have neurological problems which mean I have chronic pain. I have been where you are, my GP increasing my pain meds, until I was asleep half the day.
What helped me, was looking at different approaches to manage my pain such as gentle exercise, as I found I was stiffening up with not moving much, relaxation exercises, & distraction, etc.
I'm still in pain the moment I'm upright, but managing it, & find being able to achieve small goals some days gives me a small sense of achievement. My current GP also increased a med I take which doesn't have a sedating effect.
Pain is very personal, & a difficult thing to manage, & sometimes pain meds become less effective if used long-term. So I'm just mentioning what helped me, in case it's of some use to you, now or in the future.
I see you have some pets. Some of us have shared our photos in the 'Coffee lounge' section of this forum. There are a couple of photos of my kitten, Shadow there.
