hi, I am not a disabled person but need to book a wheelchair accessible taxi for a colleague. We have a 2 day meeting in Somerset and my colleague is in London and needs to go there and back in a taxi both days. Anyone got any ideas??

Hi @Baldfiddler, I would recommend simply contacting local private hire taxi firms and asking them for a quote for a wheelchair accessible taxi booked in advance - most larger firms will have a people carrier or similar type vehicle that is suitable. Obviously you'll need to book two separate trips, there and back. Hope this helps, and you might find some more useful info on disabledtraveladvice.co.uk.

thanks very much.

Also worth knowing that legally you can't be charged more than for their ordinary cars (which carry the same number of passengers) as this would be discriminatory!

thank you too! I have 2 similar quotes...a lot, but I guess they would be anyway..
