March 2025

I copied the following from a website: “Personal independence payment (PIP) eligibility will be tightened from November 2026. This will affect new applications but also existing claimants when they are reassessed.” My PIP reassessment is due in May 2027. I have 2 points in five of the Daily Living components and do not…

This is what I call a very hotbed topic for many thousands of us if not hundreds of thousands into millions who battle mental health daily. The health secretary, Wes Streeting, has ordered a clinical review of the diagnosis of mental health conditions, according to reports. Streeting is understood to be concerned about a…

Hi, I need to draft a response to the letter below from my Labour MP, and need some help with it, please. I have my PIP for an ongoing period. The last time I spoke to them the lady said that they might get in touch with me in 2030 Is this going to change now?

Does anyone have any update regarding the proposed ESA/JSA limited time benefit? If we don't qualify for UC due to savings etc and don't get the new 4 points for PIP we will get zero benefits. We need a benefit for people who have worked and it is not means tested. Maybe you should have paid a certain percentage of NI…

So,I've been reading about this 'Connect to Work' scheme, being rolled out from next week in West London. It's aimed at disabled people who are not in work. The article started off by implying that unemployed disabled people would be 'targeted',but further along,it says that you need to apply to join it. I must admit I'm a…

LABOUR ARE NOT FIT TO RUN THIS COUNTRY , THEY ARE CRUEL , THEY DO NOT CARE AND KING CHARLES HAS THE POWER TO DISSOLVE PARLIAMENT AND CALL A GENERAL ELECTION . SAVE THE UK NOW

Hi I'm new to this but I would like to know more about PIP changes and how it will impact me

I intend to take up the governments kind offer of finding all lazy disabled UK residents suitable full-time work…. I am 62 years old and had a near fatal accident 35 years ago - I worked full time until 15 years ago and part time until 5 years ago. I have absolutely no idea what they will suggest – having been a Civil…

I know there are a few threads on this already, sorry. I'm just trying to raise further awareness and gauge the overall response to the newest dirty trick from DWP. Call it a survey about a survey! 😛

Rachel reeves is going to tax taxis , which they say either higher prices or them going out of business. What is wrong with this woman. ? She must sit with a pen and paper thinking what else she can tax or cut . I rely on taxis to get to places.

It appears that PIP may be disposed of and replaced by a new "Additional Costs Disability Payment" - if the government gets its way…. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/dwp-pip-personal-independence-payment-latest-changes-b2699160.html The rates of payment would be higher than PIP but, yet again - lesser…

Struggling with the cuts news and developments, as so many are. I always read the News posts on Benefits and Work to keep up with the emerging information and it was from there that I discovered the Green Paper thread on this forum. Hoping to contribute something useful.

Im wondering if the definition of disabled is going to morph into something new with these changes to PIP. At present it involves proving you are substaintially affected in daily life. https://www.gov.uk/definition-of-disability-under-equality-act-2010 At present if you go to court over disability discrimination you have…

Thoughts on this article? The press love scaremongering, but it doesn't tell you much! DWP confirms PIP changes including 10-year ‘light-touch’ reviews

I have an indefinite DLA award of high care/low mobility for a lifetime condition (epilepsy). My concern is that if I wait until the proposed measures happen before claiming PIP (assuming they do), then I may not qualify due to the 4 point rule. If I do qualify then maybe my current LCWRA award would also be cut under the…

Hello to every again dose anyone know what happeing to people who need help with day life. I been told I can never again will that change under this govement.

Taken from the Mirror today - Seems that the 10 year/light touch awards will hopefully improve the users 'experience' of claiming PIP as well as being given more information when awarded such an award. No idea what all of that means but it will only affect new claims next year and those that reach the 10 year point of…

Hi - I just wondered if anyone else had seen anything about this £785 payment from the DWP? It popped up on my online newsfeed this evening, says it will be paid to people on certain benefits (UC,ESA,JSA,pension credits) and to people on a low household income or with a disability. Says it will be automatically paid in to…
