Back to Work - with any luck

I intend to take up the governments kind offer of finding all lazy disabled UK residents suitable full-time work….

I am 62 years old and had a near fatal accident 35 years ago - I worked full time until 15 years ago and part time until 5 years ago.

I have absolutely no idea what they will suggest – having been a Civil Servant for 30 years and then a part time school IT Technician for another 10 years - after being medically retired from both roles – but whatever it is – the workplace itself will need to be fully wheelchair accessible with access to toilet facilities that are wheelchair accessible (preferably personal due to some of the “stinkers” that I do) - and some form of speech advocacy/support because of poor speech. Also my memory is poor, and I will need a scribe/writer support due to Dysgraphia.

My arms are fast becoming useless – I can type, but not lift any weight at all – my shoulders often freeze causing me immense pain – so when I scream loudly due to the pain – the other staff will have to accept this noise.

My legs are useless – I had a knee replacement in 2016 which failed due to delays in getting a medical decision over the best way forwards.

I will also need transport to and from work – because my car is not capable of holding my electric wheelchair.

Finally – the working hours will have to be flexible due to medical, doctor and hospital appointments that I have, often several times a week.

The government is so certain that they can get every LAZY disabled person BACK TO WORK

So this challenge is going to be interesting.

Afternoon @Wibbles. We're trying where possible to keep these posts in a safe space created for discussion. I've added a few links below:

Disabled people should be sent to work as members of parliament. An obvious solution.

My local JobCentre Website shows just 21 “disabled confident” job vacancies in the area –including many totally unsuitable “warehouse” and “shop assistant” jobs (what classes these vacancies as Disabled confident ? poor pay perhaps?) – there are perhaps 2 jobs that I could physically do…..
