Hi, I am wondering if I would qualify for pip with having sciatica. The pain is awful, I can’t walk far and can’t bend only if absolutely necessary. I am having trouble sitting down for longer than 20mins and getting back up. Struggling to bend to use the loo. And need help getting in and out of the bath. It’s on my right hand side of my body down from my back to my leg. I’m on the waiting list for a physiotherapist and waiting also to have some screening. I can’t take pain killers so only on paracetamol.

In a previous thread you said you've been awarded PIP, thread here. https://forum.scope.org.uk/discussion/97951/pip-first-payment#latest so i don't understand the reason for your question.

could I add to my claim because I feel with sciatica I will be awarded more points, so I am currently on standard rate as if I put my sciatica in will there be a chance I could get the higher rate as it’s affecting me daily.

Or would my sciatica be irrelevant now because I have already made my claim I cannot add my sciatica to it?

It doesn't quite work like that. You can report changes but doing this will prompt more forms to be sent out to you for you to fill in and return with all your evidence. You'll likely have another assessment too because most have them.
When you applied for the claim you currently have did you mention anything about your sciatica and how it affects you? PIP isn't awarded based on any diagnosis, what matters is how those conditions affect you.

If you already have and award and you report a change you will be sent a new health questionnaire and have to have a new assessment. The whole award will be reviewed. You shouldn’t report a change without fully understanding the assessment criteria and point scoring system - take advice if necessary.
