Firstly I would like to say I hope all had a good Xmas and would like to wish everybody a Happy New Year

my question is I receive ESA contribution how long can I stay on this until I’m changed to ESA income support

can I change to ESA income related or am I best to stay on ESA contribution

    Your ESA is New style ESA so this will remain as that and won't be changed. As you're in the Support Group then this will continue for as long as you remain in that group.
    Based on another thread of yours i see that you're also claiming LCWRA which is part of UC.
    You will never be placed onto Income Related ESA because it no longer exists for new claims. UC has replaced it which you're already claiming. See previous thread here. https://forum.scope.org.uk/discussion/99564/housing-benefit#latest#
    There's no such thing as ESA Income Support.

    If you are in the Support Group the contribution based ESA can continue until you reach pension age (if your health conditions continue to result in Limited Capability for Work and Work Related Activity).

    If you on the old contribution based ESA you may be able to get some income based ESA in addition to contribution based ESA, depending on your financial circumstances.

    If you are on new style ESA this is only contributions based but you may be able to get some Universal Credit in addition to new style ESA, depending on your financial circumstances.
