Once a decision is Made on your work capability assessment you'll either be found to have Limited Capability For Work Related Activity, (LCWRA) Limited capability for work (LCW) or fit for work.

You will only be entitled to extra money if found to have LCWRA and this will be paid from the 4th month after you provided your first fit note, providing there were no gaps in the fit notes up until a decision is made. You will also not be expected to attend any appointments or look for work.

If found to have LCW you will not be entitled to extra money each month and you may expected to attend work focused interviews with a work coach but won't be expected to look for work.

If found fit for work, you will be expected to look for work and attend appointments.

You can of course challenge the decision if you're not happy once it's made.

Hi @Ellon, welcome to the community 😊 I'm glad you were able to finally post on here. I know it can be a pretty tough thing to share how you're doing, even to people online! It really can be tough going through everyday, especially with everything you've mentioned. I can certainly struggle with my depression and Crohn's together. The physical illness makes things harder, and the mental illness saps the motivation to then do those things. 😣

Moving onto the benefits system, it is quite complicated yes. I hope Poppy has been able to answer some of your questions about the health assessment. How did you find it by the way?

I'm just going to move this discussion over to our Universal Credit category, please also ask away with any other questions you have!
