Pip renewal 2024

Hi all, just wondering if anyone could help me. My Pip is due to end in January 2025, and i had my Renewal forms sent out in May and sent that back in July 24 with a 4 week extension to help fill them out. I know, I’ve had no change in my condition but I still went in-depth when writing them out with my partner. I received a text from DWP in August, to say they received my forms and they would contact in needed. Fast forward in September, I received a message to say they still looking into my claim and I have not heard anything back since. Does anyone know why this might be? I do have a disability badge and that runs out in January 2025 so I’m a little stuck on what to do.
Is anyone else still waiting to hear about PIP renewal? I’ve waited almost 8 months now.

There’s extremely long delays with PIP reviews and many people are waiting about a year, sometimes longer.
If a decision hasn’t been made about 35 days before your award is due to end you will receive a letter telling you your award has been extended for up to one year.
I waited around 11 months for my review decision.

If your PIP is due to end in January 2025 and you haven't heard anything since September I would advise you to call PIP. A lot of existing PIP awards are being extended due to the backlog of reviews. If your award were to be extended I would have expected you to have received a letter confirming this by now.

Thanks Poppy for the quick reply.
What should I do about my Blue badge with that ending in January 2025?
Thanks

It depends when in Jan it’s due to end. The letters are not generated until 35 days before. Then you need to allow the extra time for it to be sent and delivered, which can take a couple of weeks.
For my BB renewal in June I sent a copy of my original award, as well as the letter telling me it was extended.
My Local Authority then automatically gave me the BB for 3 years instead of the 1 year in line with the PIP extension.

My PIP runs out on 24th January 2025 same as my Blue badge.

Then a letter should be sent out on or around 21st December. Although due to Xmas post this will be delayed in being delivered because last posting days for 2nd class to arrive in time for Xmas is 18th December.

Hi,
I received a letter today from DWP saying that my PIP has now been extended until 24th January 2026.
They said they will continue to pay my pip payments as normal while we complete the review of your claim. We will write to you to you once we have completed the review.
Does this mean I still need an assessment or will they just notify me the outcome by letter or is this just a general letter for extensions?0 -

I'm in a very similar situation where my current pip award ends next month the 10th of April 2025
I received my renewal forms last August where they were returned in September,my support worker then rang them back in January where they confirmed i was still in the queuing system for which it will be extended until it's reviewed due to the backlog,it's now the 13th of March where I still haven't received anything in writing to confirm if my award as been extended which is very worrying times.
