Phone compliance interview - child element review

hello please can someone give me advice I’ve had a message on my journal to say I’ve had a telephone interview in two weeks time it says they have information to suggest that me child element needs reviewing my child is due to finish school this year and when I continue to read the letter it goes on about not declaring changes the only thing I haven’t done is say my daughter is staying in full time education but i didn’t think i would need to do this yet xx

Hi,

They will just be asking what your daughter intends to do when she leaves school.

The part about not declaring changes is just a standard thing, it's not specifically saying that you've done anything wrong.

thank you when I spoke to u c she wasn’t very helpful she said it was nothing to do with my daughter leaving school then on the next breath she said that she doesn’t know what it’s about she can’t see it it just says a interview also do I need to inform u c that my daughter works part time and in full time education people are saying different one week she only does 4.5 hours the other week she works 9 xx

As long as she is under 19 and still in full time education, you don't need to tell UC about her part time work.

If she makes her own UC claim in future, then she will need to tell UC about any earnings.

The compliance interviews can be about anything, but if this one specifically mentioned the Child Element then that is what I'd expect it to be about. 🙂
