Scottish child payments have stopped?

Hello all

Hoping someone can help with this. We normally get Scottish Child Payments for our children and have been since they started.

We migrated over to UC after the migration letter last year after being on Child Tax Credits. My children are under 16

We also get Scottish Child Disability Payments for them.

But out of the blue we got this letter today? I'm confused why they have stopped our Scotland Child Payments?
We're we never even suppose to get them even? Will this mean a huge overpayment?

Hope someone can help please?

Hi @blacklight that does seem odd. I'm not very familiar with this situation, sorry but have found this on the citizens advice website when looking at the Scottish child payment section:

To be entitled you must get one of these benefits (which it looks as though you are):

    • income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
    • income-related Employment and Support Allowance
    • Income Support
    • Pension Credit
    • Universal Credit – if your UC is reduced to £0 by a sanction or a third-party deduction, you can still get Scottish Child Payment.

Is it possible to contact them directly to discuss this. They might offer some more detail about why they've taken this decision to stop the benefit, as like you've said your children are under 16.

Sorry I couldn't answer your question fully. Hopefully one of our members that's been through a similar situation sees this and can give their view.

    Best wishes,
