I was born with cerable palsy, .My parents were told that I would never be able to read, walk and speak properly. However thanks to their support I managed to overcome most of these difficulties. I started working with a few minor jobs until my early 30s. I was then fortunate enough to find a well paid job, get married and buy a house. At the time of buying the house we took out various insurance to cover ill health ect, even though it was very expensive to cover me. After 25 years sadly my health has slowly got worse and my job pensioned me off last year. So there I was in my mid 50s unemployed with a mortgage my wife and a child. Fortunate for me all these insurance I have paid into for many years have paid out. My mortgage has now been paid off and between my pension and income insurance we are OK. Now if we had not planned ahead with insurance, the story would have been very different. For anyone who is thinking of getting on the property ladder, do consider having the proper cover, you never know when you may need it.
