Thanks for sharing @anisty, we have definitely noticed more people being reviewed lately

Hi @anisty. Just been reading the link. I’ve noticed a few things it says.
Over one million claims (1,149,940) have been reviewed from April 2022 to April 2025. A lot of claims have been reviewed at least twice or more. Would these separate review claims be classed as one or two separate claim reviews?I seen a link a few days ago suggesting over 7.5 million people are on UC. That would mean not everyone has had a review yet and if they reviewed over a million claims (some of those at least twice on the same claim) in the last 3 years. That would mean it could take at least a good few long years for everyone to get a review. Also on the link it says Targeted Case Review activity for a further two years from the autumn budget last year which would mean ending in 2026/27. With them only reviewing a million or more claims on the last 3 years. That would mean it’s very unlikely not everyone will get a review if the targeted case review from the autumn budget last year says it will only last for a further 2 years.
Last one (sorry for the long paragraph ahead) been a long day. 😅.
I looked at the Reddit subs (Benefitsadvice and DWPhelp) a lot before I migrated over to UC from ESA recently and that’s what made me worry a lot. I’ve seen so many different answers from those who are “verified” to work for DWP on these subs which made me ill and struggle a lot.Due to it I ended up having to buy kalms from boots to control my anxiety with it all as it was making me ill all these different answers from these people on there.
The link you posted has made me finally realise they’ve been spreading misinformation on there. I seen one “verified” mod on there in the last few months saying everyone on legacy benefits which included ESA, JSA, Tax Credits etc was being asked for bank statement reviews every 6 months in the past and present. Which I know is not true due to the link you posted. There was another “verified” mod on there saying everyone on all legacy benefits was being asked for bank statements every year and anyone on these benefits who said they didn’t have one every year was lying. The link you posted and what it says that only over 1 million have had reviews on the last few years suggests these “verified” moderators on Reddit on these both subs have been either spreading misinformation or just making it up as they go long. As I’ve noticed a few other people have called them out on their posts in the past.
Everyone should look at the website called whatdotheyknow as it’s a freedom of information and there’s a lot of requests about the reviews and DWP have to reply to each one.0
