Im not sure what will happen to my UC I have transitional protection and moved from ESA support group, i still get the ESA disability premium which is deducted from my UC claim, as i wanted some of my money paid 2 weekly, the UC is paid monthly. I get enhanced PIP for care and mobility. Both of my sons have enhanced PIP for care and mobility, my eldest son 33yrs is still on ESA support group and my youngest son 20yrs was on UC LWC, although he didn't have to find work, he wants to work and he started an apprenticeship this month, he trains and works from home 4 days a week and goes into the work place one day a week. We all live in a 3 bed council house and I receive housing benefit and council tax benefits, i have underlying care for one of my son's im not even sure for which one? i called UC 0800 numb as soon as I had some information, they left a message for the job centre, who called me back as my son's appointee spoke on his behalf told them everything, he put the details on his UC claim but he still recieved the same monthly UC this month, through his journal we have tried to arrange another call to find out what is happening, we wasn't expecting a month's UC lcw payment? I have now found out i have to put his change on my UC journal which they didn't tell me when I called them. I now don't know who I should inform and what will happen to my benefits it's not even clear when I call the helpline the lady i spoke to didn't seem to know anything just asked if he wanted to end his claim, the job centre was a bit more helpful but she had to keep checking with her supervisor? Im so confused now 😕 I don't know what's going to happen? Or what i have to do? I have to support my son in him wanting to work and I am really pleased he is doing this apprenticeship it lasts for 14 months and I hope he gets taken on or is able to find work at the end of the day. Please can anyone help ?

Hi @Elvisdog it looks like there's a lot of uncertainty about what your currently claiming, and what changes have taken place recently which is definitely something you need to speak with DWP about. Is it possible to request from DWP via your journal the current award information? It might then be worth arranging a meeting with a benefits advisor such as Turn2us or Citizens Advice to understand if there are any changes that need to be made. Hopefully I've understood your situation correctly, but if not, please let me know 😊

@Holly_Scope thank you I think I'll try the citizen advice if they are taking on new calls, they have been overwhelmed by the pension credit and transition calls. ive never known such confusion about benefits as i have this year, i don't know if it's my fibromyalgia brain fog or other conditions that give me brain fog or just that it is really confusing at the moment.

It does sound like you've got a lot of moving parts and you've not had much clarity from them so I'm not surprised. I'd be confused as well. 😅 Hopefully you're able to get some support from Citizen's advice. Please let us know how you're getting on.
