Pip review text

Hi I’m really hoping someone can help me. I receive pip for anxiety and depression and have done since 2016. I am due for review in April 2026. I received my health review forms and completed and sent them back as directed in September. Today I just received a text from the dwp saying that my pip review is complete and I should receive the decision letter within two weeks. This has never happened before, I’ve always had a face to face assessment or phone call. I’m very worried with all the current talk around people with my condition that they may just have decided to stop my payments. Any advice welcomed.

This means you have had a paper based assessment.

These are done when the assesor feels they have enough information to make a decision with minimal or no further input from the claimant.

Sometimes this is the health assessment agency, or increasingly reviews are being kept in house within the DWP.

It isn't indicative of a particular outcome though it would be unusual to stop an award without further claimant input.

You can still ring and ask the outcome, but they won't always give the information out over the phone.

Hello. I have just received the exact same text this morning and it's really made me worry now. I know there's no point speculating and the text clearly states they will not disclose the decision if I contact them but I hadn't prepared for this mentally.

Waiting for the review is not alot of fun as it is but based on all the timescales given on here and by the DWP and well pretty much everywhere I had in my head a realistic timescale that I could at least try and not worry for a few months. My PIP was awarded for a 3 year period in Spring 2023 and I was only contacted to send my review form off in September and did so promptly. So I had thought at the very earliest it would be next Spring and probably even longer based on waiting times.

I am also surprised at not even being given a meeting with an HCP. Last time around I was given a telephone meeting which was very helpful and lengthy and gave me opportunity to explain finer details that are always difficult when writing in a form. There have been some changes in my conditions, both for the better and for the worse, in recent months and again, I feel it would have been good to discuss these at least over the phone.

Basically this has stirred up all my fears and worries about the changes in PIP and the cuts they are making as it almost feels like they have just immediately tossed my PIP into the NO pile without much thought or further discussion.

Of course I know this is just typical catastrophrising on my part and I just have to wait but needed to write here to try and alleviate some of the anxiety as I have no one to talk to about this.

I am also worried (quite literally sick!) because since having the PIP I have been able to make some improvements in my life which has made managing my conditions better so I have a real fear of it being snatched away and it causing me to backslide.

    Oh well I suppose.

I would them. I had the same thing happen a few weeks ago. I called and explained that I was very anxious about it and they gave me the decision information on the phone. Its worth a shot.

    best wishes

Any update? I've had the same text today, and I am worried. My timeline is the same as yours, not due for renewal until April, sent the forms in Sept.

I received the same text today, however. If you log onto gov website on proof of income it shows your result and pip results. Thought this might benefit some x

@wkd let me know how you get on :)

You have to proof your identity via passport or driving licence but the whole thing takes less than 5 mins.
    fingers crossed x
