CoastDad

I'm a parent of two teenage boys, both navigating SEND needs, including autism and related medical challenges. A big part of my life at the moment is supporting them through education, EHCP processes, and the transition into post-16 life, including college and future opportunities.

Alongside that, I’m also on my own journey of understanding myself better. I’ve recently started coming to terms with my own neurodiversity (Autism / ADHD), as well as other long term medical conditions. I’m still learning how I function best and how to navigate things in a way that actually works for me, rather than constantly pushing against myself.

That journey has helped me better understand and support my boys, but it’s also about finding my own voice and figuring out what I need too.

I’m really interested in sharing experiences and learning from others – especially around emotional regulation, supporting independence, and navigating systems that don’t always feel joined up.

Always open to connecting with others going through similar things, swapping ideas, or just having a space to talk things through.
