PIP Audit... does going to audit mean you'll have your points lowered?

Hi, I first rang up for my PIP claim 13th March. Had my assessment last Wednesday and found out my assessment is being audited.

After searching around it seems theres posts on reddit by assessors that claim being audited generally means they will lower points. Whats peoples experience with this?

Also how long does a report generally take to be audited? I sent in around 20 pieces of evidence and my assessment was 2 hours (phone).

Sorry I'm autistic so struggling to get my head around this

With respect, you should always take posts on Reddit with a VERY large pinch of Salt, most of it is, to quote Rowan Atkinson "Complete Donkey twoddle".

Hi @littlestars and welcome to the community! A PIP assessment audit is to check the assessor is doing their job properly. It doesn't mean that you will receive less points.

The length of time an audit takes can vary between a few days to a few weeks so I wouldn't be able to give a definitive answer I'm afraid. I did find an old post from someone going through the same thing and I'll link it below. Just bear in mind that this is a post from 2024 and the members may no longer be active on the community if you wanted to ask any questions.

The auditor is there to check the assessor has done things right, not to go through your application. Try not to get yourself too worked up about it 😊 I know that's easier said than done! I'd recommend not reading too much online about it as there is a lot of misinformation out there.
