Online Community Member Posts: 4 Listener
Hi my name is stephenrmb and my nephew Tim aged 27 has CP and has trained as a mentor and is looking to help other people with CP. I don't know if this discussion is the best place to start or the right way to go about it. Can anyone advise or would anyone like to be mentored by someone who also has CP? Kind regards to all.

Welcome to the community @stephenrmb
Just to let you know, I've moved your post into our CP category for now.
What kind of mentoring does Tim do? What does it involve?n0 -
Tim can converse using a Dynavox speech generating device for communication and can also generate text on emails.
Tim can help other people who have CP with: Maintaining their mental health, Coming to terms with physical restrictions, Learning to persevere
Tim can be: Available as a person they can share their frustrations with and be listened to, Helping them to develop what skills and aptitudes they do have.

This is a new venture, and Tim has recently completed his training. He is looking for clients, and would not be charging the first few!1

Great to have you and Tim on board @stephenrmb. Are there areas of mentoring that Tim specialises in or mentoring more broadly?0

Tim can help with general support and encouragement and give motivation to make progress with projects.
