I'm on universal credit and been handing in sick notes since 8th June 2021 and have had to have an assessment for Limited  work capability and have been told I've now no need to hand in sick notes as I'm now on Lwrca as well as universal credit so will my payments get  backdated to June 2021 as they have payed this months but that's all

    Hi,
There's a full 3 month assessment period waiting time and the extra money is paid from the 4th month of your claim. It's not paid at all during the waiting period. When it's paid from exactly will depend on the dates of your assessment periods, or when you usually receive your money each month. Potentially from either October or November 2021.
This is assuming you're not claiming UC with a partner that already receives the LCWRA element on your claim.

Hi and welcome to the community

You don't get paid the extra for the first 3 full assessment periods after reporting the condition

Which means you should be paid from either from nov or Dec depending on your assessment period dates

Backpay is paid as a seperate payment and can take a while to calculate

You will get a note on your journal once it is calculated showing the amount due

As advised it will depend on what date you usually receive your payment each month. Without knowing this it’s impossible to tell you exactly when it’s paid from.
Going forward the LCWRA will be paid in with your next UC payment. Any money owed will be paid as a lump sum separate to your usual payment.

I got back dated about 10 months! This was when covid first hit and I got a few thousand! I couldn't believe it. I thought someone made a mistake, I never had so much money, I was like a little kid at Christmas 😂.
I had mine as A lump sum as soon as they made the decision, hope you get it!
