My daughter has been on DLA but has had to now apply for PIP. I put all the information in two months ago. Two weeks ago I had a phone call asking me if I could just answer a few questions to save my daughter having to come in for an assessment. She asked me some strange questions but only about 4 questions. I was on the phone for 7 minutes?! I haven’t heard anything since? Does anybody know why the phone all was so short and what this could mean? Thank you in advance

Sometimes it's possible to do a paper based assessment but they may need to ask a few questions before they can do this. If a paper based assessment has been completed the report will be returned to DWP and your daughter will not need to attend any assessment. If you put a mobile number down on the form you filled in once the report is returned they should text you to let you know it's been received.
Timescales after this for a decision is 2-12 weeks.

Thank you for that. I did put my mobile number down so I will wait for a text message then first.

If an assessment is needed then your daughter will be contacted.

Hello @adeles  and welcome to the community, I hope you are having a nice weekend.

Sometimes the questions you get asked can seem quite random but more often than not there will be a purpose to asking it, mainly to establish the impact of a condition on daily living or mobility needs.

I have moved your discussion over to our PIP category which you might find it helpful to browse :)

This is a very supportive and welcoming site to be a part of so I’m sure you’ll find it to be a positive outlet, feel free to have a look around and get involved wherever you’d like 😊 A few notable pages I’d recommend visiting would be:

    • The virtual coffee lounge which is one of our categories, in which we play games and talk about general subjects such as hobbies and interests
    • The recent discussions page, which shows an overview of everything happening across the community
    • The categories page, which shows a full list of discussion groups on the community

If you have any questions at all then don’t hesitate to ask.
