I'm a new member but have been reading comments I've found very supportive.
I got a text today regarding my first PIP application saying not yet made a decision. Really hoping for a positive outcome it's making me extremely anxious and stressed.

@Granny03 Hello there and a warm welcome to our online community, how are you today?
The PIP process can take a toll emotionally and the feelings you describe, such as being anxious and stressed, are ones we see a lot amongst our members. I'm glad reading comments has been of some comfort though and we will happily support you from here on in with any problems you might happen across.
Try to keep yourself distracted until that decision letter arrives (I know it's tricky) and feel free to make yourself at home in our other categories.
Just to let you know, I've tweaked the title of your thread and moved it to our PIP, DLA and AA category so others can more easily spot it. Good luck and all the best.1 -
Just to let everyone know dwp made my decision yesterday and granted me enhanced on both. However I only found out when I telephoned to chase this morning to see how long decisions were taking. I have not received a text this morning either to notify. It is 4 and a half weeks since my assessment. The lady was lovely and said although normally texts are sent for some reason I hadn't been sent the decision text.
Hope this helps others answers questions as I know how anxious I have been.0 -
That's good news @Granny03 I'm pleased to hear it, hopefully this can help ease the anxiety you've been feeling!
The lady is right, I believe it's normally the case that texts are sent out, but this isn't a guarantee for everyone.
I hope you're able to relax and enjoy the rest of the week now1 -

Please could you tell me how long you had to wait from your claim date until they contacted about your assessment and then when you had your assessment?
My new claim was only last week and I'm also very anxious about it all. Was your a long wait from claim to assessment and was it face to face ?
Thanks in advance and merry Christmas:)🙏🙏☺️💕🌄

You only applied last week so they may not have even received your form yet unless you applied online. My advice is try to put it out of your mind otherwise it's going to cause a lot of anxiety.

I started my claim on 12th August, submitted byPapers 11th September. 12th September they text to acknowledge receipt of my application. Same day Independent Assessment text to say they would be dealing with me. 3rd November Independent Assessors text and gave me date of 17th November for my phone assessment. Had my assessment 17th November. Assessment report acknowledged by DWP 18th November and they made decision 20th December. Hope this is useful0
