Hi I suffer from Chronic Pain, I also have had type 1 Diabetes for 46 years. I'm not convinced it's Chronic pain, I have a numb big toe and 4/5 worn spine and neck (I believe the Dr. has put me down as having Chronic Pain, due to this).
