Hi

My friend left work and went onto universal credit he left on December 15 he usually gets paid on the 21st but the company didn't pay him his last payment until Jan 15 meaning he didn't receive his universal payment this month.  He rejoined universal credit after being on UC from last Jan until August then worked from September until December 15 then back on UC December 16.

Is it right he received no payment because the company paid him his last wages 3 weeks late

UC payments are calculated to take into account earnings when they are received. A payment received on 15th January would have been taken into account when calculating a payment due on 1st February. The payment would have had the same impact if he had been paid at any time between roughly 24th December to 23rd January.

But the company said they would pay all of his money due on the 21st of December they kept faffing about and paid him a month late so it's not his fault the company paid him so late

It may not be his fault but UC takes money into account when received.
