edited April 2023 in Universal Credit (UC)
Hello I’m headcook

i had an admission to A+E early last year and found out I had an unknown heart attack
end result chronic heart failure
have been on long term sick claiming universal credit
after 4 months of being hounded by a work coach every 2 weeks he finally sent me for a capability assessment
came back LCWRA
at Christmas my employer basically said enough you been on sick 9 months and they let me go on health grounds
made this work coach aware straight away as he had still been contacting me every 10 days even on LcWRA
we are now nearly 6 months on again
and had a message on journal saying have you earned any money so answered no truthfully I may add
this then led me to declare a change to employment
now I’m scared I have done something wrong
I sent a message on my journal to query and was told I should have done this sooner
feeling let down by work coach for not directing me in right direction
what exactly is there role
considering all way through up till Xmas I actually had a job I was desperately hoping to return to
realise now health wise not returning is in fact the right decision made by work for me
just feel a bit silly too as I genuinely thought all was correct
As they could see no earnings and awarded LCWRA
im truly amazed by our system

When your employed ended your contract you should have just reported a change of circumstances to tell them you'd finished work. As you've been found to have LCWRA this wouldn't have affected your claim anyway.
When found to have LCWRA you don't usually have a work coach and you shouldn't have been getting contacted every 10 days because you have no work commiments.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

    @poppy123456
Thank you and yes I no work coach should not of carried on with contact it went on for ages
even when I said to him about it
he still continued booking appointments they have ceased now
oops so I should not have been
Nieve enough to think they put together the facts that no earnings declared meant no actual employment together with there assessment finding me LCWRA
feel even more silly now for thinking this
still think work coaches should point you in right direction when you are informing them of the changes that are happening
    hopefully it’s all correct now
    thanks again

Hi there @Headcook thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear what's happened over the last year, but you've not done anything wrong, and it's not your fault.

I think there should be more support and guidance for claimants when going through all these processes, as things can be very stressful and draining.

How are things for you at the moment? :)
