Help filling in UC50 / PIP forms

I’ve just read somewhere that filling in the above forms yourself if you have MH issues can mean you are marked down. This is absolutely ridiculous coz a lot of people that struggle MH have the ability to fill in a form.
Will getting help ( welfare service etc ) filling in the form count for anything ?
TIA

In my opinion, no not at all. The best person to fill in the forms is always yourself because you are the only person that really knows exactly how your conditions affect you.Getting help to fill the forms out doesn’t mean you’ll automatically be entitled either. I’ve got help to fill out forms in the past and what a complete waste of time that was, I could have done better myself. Thankfully, it made no difference to the outcome and was still awarded.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

I find it useful to get help with forms, as an outside view helps me see what isn't normal in terms of day to day living with my health problems, and guides me to write some things down I wouldn't have thought about on my own.

@paries1 I've read a few times how people have started and gone back to the form over a few days, because it got too much for them.Hannah - She / Her
