Finally the problem with my eye-sight has been diagnosed I have nystagmus which basically means that my eyes don't co-ordinate with my brain, my eyes also move from side to side, the cause of the nystagmus would have been my two strokes 25 years ago and my subsequent TIA's over the years plus my regular seizures. It is quite likely that in the near future I will be registered as partially sighted.
It has become impossible to read even with reading glasses and the condition is not treatable, I can use my laptop with everything magnified and hope I can continue to be an active member of the scope community.

That's a shame @woodbine, just a suggestion but can you read books on your laptop? Can you get books on the laptop and magnify them? Sorry if you have already thought of this.

Have you thought about practicing with screen readers and adaptive tech now so that if your vision does get worse you can still do the things you enjoy (like being here with us!!! <3
I'm glad you've now got answers but I'm sorry it's not treatable. How you feeling about it?

Yeah, adaptive technology has become quite good lately from what I have witnessed. Screen readers are getting more and more sophisticated.
They/Them, however they are no wrong pronouns with me so whatever you feel most comfortable with

If I'm honest I'm feeling really  bad about the whole thing, but I am seeing a counsellor atm not sure if its helping but I'm giving it ago (again).
