This media malarkey has turned to inflict distress to the disability community.
The article that appeared today under a mild title, has turned toxic using the title
"Disabled people face end to monthly benefits cash"
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cn0ry09d50wo
This is unacceptable and calls for Charities to take action.
This "prepare" culture of the government to use the media pets to announce bad reforms ahead of the fact, just to make it more acceptable to the impacted groups has gone off limits here.
Disabled people deserve a better treatment and respect.
Try not to panic, and make your own call to Scope, Mind and other charities to end this media torture.
If the government something to say, or do, or reform, let it be when it comes to parliament. It is disgusting to read it on the news, and millions of people go tonight at bed with a worry, over what? A title.
This is bullying and harassment if you ask me, and the media are responsible for anyone who will be affected by such articles.
Lets face it, if its not law, its not true. That article is illegal the way it is titled.
Please keep calm. Message your MP and Charities, If we send 3 million messages to MPs and charities, it will make a difference greater that 3 million of us reading such garbage and stay idle.

This is actually the very article I was thinking of when I mentioned in the "How is your day?" discussion about being very annoyed by the way the media are portraying these "consultations".
I felt myself getting far more frustrated by the BBC than by the proposed changes!
Many of these changes require legislation to pass, passing legislation takes time. Time this current government does not have, there will be an election before they can put any of these proposals in place.They/Them, however they are no wrong pronouns with me so whatever you feel most comfortable with

I don't claim PIP for these reasons, however I think it should be noted that consultations will go on till mid July, then parliament breaks up for summer then the conference season then we will be in election mode, therefore these "changes" won't see the light of day, unless the Tories win the election....as if2024 The year of the general election...the time for change is coming 💡

Well I've had a mental health crisis today, which for me involves becoming very distressed, trying to get my head around my reasons for living disappearing, and ending up having to take a huge amount of medication to sedate me. I came round to worse news, that they plan to strip us of any ability to have agency over what we know helps us to live. What I consider a protective factor for me is not going to be the same for everyone, and I suspect won't make sense at all to these policy makers. If the Tories win the election I genuinely don't see how I can survive this.

The Tories win the elections... you have to use common sense and consider the numbers. It is NOT going to happen.
No political direction, simple logic and maths. -
