Okay I tried to send it from a copy and paste as it’s a long breakdown but I don’t think it’s sending so I’ll have to take some screen shots
-
I can see that you did have the carers element included in your UC maximum entitlement. This confirms my thoughts that the money that was owed to you was the difference between that and the LCWRA element so it sounds correct to me. If you hadn't been claiming carers element then the money owed to you would have been more, obviously.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

They've also recalculated the statements from assessment period 3rd Nov to 2nd December 2022, which is correct as that's when the LCWRA element started from.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

Is the carers element same as the carers allowance ? As that’s is all I’ve got added to my payment statements
-
As I advised carers allowance is a separate benefit to UC. Carers element is part of UC.
If you were claiming carers allowance it would be deducted in full from your UC entitlement. You would see that deduction on your statement. You would then be paid carers allowance separately, which is paid either weekly or 4 weekly. As you’ve now been found to have LCWRA then the carers element will not be included going forward because the same person can’t receive both at the same time.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -

Only had careers allowance neve the element that was added on the break down but never on my statements so I don’t think it’s the same and I understand it gets took off but nerve had then carers element
-
Sorry my phone keeps changing my words 😂

Carers element is not taken off (deducted) from UC, it will be included in your maximum entitlement.
I'm assuming you've been claiming carers allowance from March 2020 as that was when the minimum income floor didn't apply from, as a carer it wouldn't have applied.
Please check some statements from then up until assessment period 3rd Oct to 2nd November 2022 to see if the carers element is included in the breakdown of all the elements.
It is extremely difficult to give this level of advice on an internet forum because I can't see any of your statements, neither do I know what's included in your maximum UC entitlement.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
Hi I’ve taken a screen shot for when I claimed carers allowance I was over paid by £320 but this as since been paid back but just thought I’d show you the I’ve looked in to the date you advised and carer element is on there and I got £163 .73 but I’ve had all the payments updated and things have been changed so I don’t if it’s recently been added or always got that as I don’t remember things very well

Hi just wondering do they add the money I would have got for the carers element before I had a health change and before my award date ?
-
Yes, there would have neem an overpayment of carers allowance when you started claiming it as you were claiming UC at the same time CA was paid from. Although that's a moot point because carers allowance can be paid at the same time as LCWRA element anyway but as I advised, there's no financial gain because it's just deducted in full from UC anyway.
The only statements that would have been updated and changed were the ones from when the LCWRA element was added. When money is owed they always have to recalculate your past statements. The statements before that would not have been changed.

Thankyou so from
getting carers element from September 2022 and my lcwra awarded October 2023 they would add this to my award even though it’s over a year apart ? And every month I got carer element would now change to lcwra and then for example £390 minus £189 or whatever it is now then they owe me the rest to make up that payment thankyou -
Sorry year 2021 carers element
-
I’m so rubbish at explaining so I got my first carers element September 2021 I got awarded lcwra October 2023 so they take all them payments off me too is that right
-
Thinking of this more I really can’t see how they could have made an error. When they recalculate your statements they look at them first to see what you’ve already been paid. Then they add the element that is now included and calculate that against what you’ve already been paid.I can see by the screenshots you posted that’s what they did. They then removed the carers element and added the LCWRA element and paid the difference between the two.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
