Hi there,
Our private landlord has given us section 21 which is ending in 4-5 days. We are on the housing register already. Council is aware of the notice & asked all the documents we had from our landlord. They said they will check if the notice is valid. Really anxious with two special needs children what will happen next. Can’t afford to rent private property. Worried. 😢

A section 21 does not mean you have to move out by the date stated in it. The only one's that can evict you are the courts. If you live in England you can check here to see if that S21 is valid.
The most important advice I can give is please do not move out of the property unless a court evicts you because if you do then your local Authority (council) can accuse you of making yourself intentionally homeless and may refuse to help you.

Hi @tan2017
This sounds like a very stressful situation and its completely understandable why you're feeling so anxious.
Poppy has given some good advice above, do you know if the section 21 was valid? There is also Shelter and Citizens Advice who can give you free, expert advice. as they should know all about housing laws and can help you understand your rights.

Hi,
Council asked for the documents that our LL sent to us to check if it’s valid. Waiting for their reply. We are on the housing register for more than four years. Still bidding behind 1200 people. 😢
We will try to contact shelter if they would like to suggest anything.
Thank you so much for your help.0
