Can I just appeal mobility rate for DLA?

Good morning,
I need help regarding DLa mandatory reconsideration.
My Son has ASD/Adhd. He got high rate on care and low rate mobility .we want reconsideration on mobility, but I read on line they will reconsider whole again .and might be they put low in both criteria or refuse too.
Can I ask for look only mobility rate?

You can mention that you’re happy with the care part but they will still look at the whole award again. The most likely outcome of any MR decision is that it remains the same. It’s rare to lose an existing award at this stage but it does happen.

Hi @zara25, as Poppy mentions you can appeal the decision, but it will appeal the entire decision. If the DWP has found someone meets a certain threshold for an award it is rare for them to lower it with an MR. It depends what is presented in the Mandatory Reconsideration when you make the appeal. You can read more about appeals here: Appealing a benefits decision | Disability charity Scope UK

Hi ,I discussed with my son school head teacher and she is happy to write a letter in my behalf for reconsideration low rate mobility.
Is Dwp accept it ?
if someone is writing a reconsideration letter?

Hi @zara25
The teacher can write supporting evidence for the mandatory reconsideration but they wouldn't be able to write the full mandatory reconsideration on your behalf.0 -
Hoo.she has written a letter on my behalf and I did post.

Good evening,
I need your prompt support for my Son Mobility Component. I strongly believe he needs high rate for Mobility. I am not sure how ask Dla for Severe mental impairment?
Shall I call Dla or shall I request GP ?

Hi @zara25
You can appeal the original DLA decision with a mandatory consideration if you believe that your son needs has high support need for the mobility component but they will look at the whole award again.
This webinar for parents apply for mobility element when they have an autistic child with autism, may be helpful. It just gives you some more tips and reminders to make the filling out forms in regards to mobility a bit easier.
